Southern Tennessee Regional Health System Welcomes First Baby Born in 2021

Southern Tennessee Regional Health System in Winchester is ringing in 2021 with the year’s first bundle of joy. Weighing 6 pounds and 13 ounces and measuring 18.5 inches, Ella Mykell was born to Madalyn and Michael, Friday, Jan. 1, at 6:00 PM.

For over 50 years, Southern Tennessee’s Childbirth Center has been committed to providing high quality, compassionate care close to home for new and expecting parents in the region. Southern Tennessee’s Childbirth Center provides a complete program of medical, surgical and educational services to accommodate the unique needs of patients. The Childbirth Center offers free childbirth and breastfeeding classes for anyone delivering at Southern Tennessee Regional Health System, 24-hour anesthesia coverage, and wireless internet access.  Additionally, Southern Tennessee Regional Health System has teamed up with Erlanger Health System to bring 24-hour in-house neonatal nurse practitioner (NNP) coverage to its Childbirth Center in the spring of 2021. 

“Southern Tennessee’s clinical and support staff are committed to creating a safe, welcoming and comfortable environment for moms and babies,” said Dr. Courtney Murray OB/GYN of Premier Women’s Health Center who delivered Ella Mykell. “It is one of our great privileges to help our community’s families welcome their newest additions in a positive and memorable way.”
