December 26, 2019

Southern Tennessee Regional Health System-Winchester/Sewanee recently announced that Olan Kemp, M.D., has joined its staff and will be offering primary care services to patients in the community. Dr. Kemp brings more than 25 years of clinical experience to STRHS.

“The addition of another primary care physician in Franklin County illustrates our commitment to making communities healthier,” said Cliff Wilson, CEO of Southern Tennessee Regional Health System-Winchester/Sewanee.  “One thing that remains the same in healthcare is the need for more primary care providers.  A primary care provider becomes a partner in your health by getting to know you and your medical history.   This partnership gives you a sense of comfort resulting in good communication between you and the doctor.”

Dr. Kemp offers a wide range of adult healthcare needs including primary care management, diabetes, high blood pressure, elevated cholesterol, COPD/Asthma, Thyroid DX, acute illness, Medicare wellness exams, chronic disease management (non-pain management), migraines and more.

Dr. Kemp joins Southern Tennessee Regional Health System-Winchester/Sewanee from Alvin C. York VA Medical Center in Murfreesboro, TN.  Before Alvin C. York VA Medical Center, he was a family physician in Tullahoma, Decherd, and Fort Polk, LA.  Dr. Kemp was also a hospitalist in Cookeville, TN and a research assistant at Vanderbilt University School of Medicine.  Additionally, Dr. Kemp attained rank of Major in the U.S. Army Medical Corps.

Dr. Kemp graduated from the University of Tennessee Center for the Health Sciences in Memphis in 1989.
