Carolyn Sparks named Chief Operating Officer of Southern Tennessee Regional Health System-Winchester/Sewanee

Southern Tennessee Regional Health System-Winchester/Sewanee (STRHS) announced today that Carolyn Cardwell Sparks has been named the new Chief Operating Officer (COO), effective April 6, 2020. Carolyn has served as the hospital’s assistant administrator since February of 2019.
“We are so excited to have Carolyn step into this important leadership role,” said Cliff Wilson, chief executive officer (CEO) of STRHS. “Carolyn is an exemplary leader with a tremendous amount of operational experience and expertise. Her commitment to patient care, physicians, employees and the community is evident in all that she does, and I know that she will help us further advance our mission of Making Communities Healthier.”.
Carolyn joined LifePoint in 2013 at Raleigh General Hospital. She later moved to LifePoint’s Hospital Support Center in service line operations for Cardiovascular, Emergency Department and Radiology/Imaging Services. Carolyn served as an assistant administrator for the former Central Group before joining STRHS.

I look forward to building on the strong foundation that already exists and helping the leadership team look for even more ways to improve the overall health and well-being of this community.”
Carolyn received her B.A. in Economics from The College of William and Mary in Williamsburg, Virginia, and her Master of Health Administration from Virginia Commonwealth University, MCV Campus in Richmond, Virginia. She is also LEAN Certified and Kata trained and a member of ACHE and Leadership Healthcare.
